Surreal imagery begins with a clear idea
If a surreal idea cannot be expressed in one sentence, effects are unlikely to carry it. A proposition such as “the garment stores memory” or “space bends around the body” determines which object changes scale, which movement repeats and which colour dominates.
The boundary between practical set and post-production
Shadows, reflections, suspension and physical set elements are created in camera where possible. Post-production completes spatial combinations that cannot be made safely or practically. Keeping real light references allows digital additions to belong to the same world.
Impossibility that preserves product truth
Conceptual play must not misrepresent the product. Fabric movement may be extended while pattern, colour and essential silhouette remain verifiable. A campaign hero can be accompanied by clearer supporting frames to maintain confidence.
A developing conceptual series rather than one trick
A strong surreal series does not repeat one visual trick four times. The opening image introduces the idea; later frames develop it through scale, perspective or material. Each picture reveals a new relation, turning momentary surprise into a coherent brand world.
